How are Harley-Davidson Motorcycles actually made?
Harley-Davidson is the world’s largest manufacturer of heavyweight motorcycles. For years they were exclusively assembled in the United States, but as is the pattern within the wider industry, it has become more cost-efficient to source parts, and even have factories, elsewhere in the world. Harley-Davidson has a plant in Thailand in addition to it's three in the USA. They have used suspension components from Japan, wheels from Australia, electronics from Asia, and brake parts from Italy. US customers have their Harleys assembled in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Thanks in part to tariffs on motorcycle exports, UK and Asia customers’ motorcycles are often assembled in Thailand, Brazil, or India.
