Why Öhlins oil

Öhlins says it developed its own oils for its shock absorbers, forks and cartridge kits, and that its fork oil reduces friction, stays cleaner, has a long service life and is highly resistant to foaming. It also sells the oils for original telescopic and upside-down forks, where it says fork oil and Öhlins fork springs together can considerably improve how the fork responds.

Examples: Öhlins Front Fork Oil #10 1 Litre 01314-01 · Öhlins Front Fork Oil #20 1 Litre 01316-01 · Öhlins Road & Track Front Fork Oil 4 Litres 01309-04.

Will it suit my bike?

Fork oil is not model-specific. Öhlins names the oil each of its products needs in the product details and mounting instructions; for an original fork, use the grade your fork's service information calls for.

What is the difference between the grades?

Viscosity. Öhlins rates its fork oils at 40°C from 19.0 centistokes for Road & Track up to 98.0 centistokes for #20. A higher number is a thicker oil.
