YSS Motorcycle Twin Shocks

YSS twin shocks for Triumph, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Harley-Davidson, Royal Enfield, BMW and Moto Guzzi motorcycles, each sold as a pair. They come as Eco Line, Top Line and Black Edition shocks and as shocks with no line name, such as the RD222, in lengths from 270 to 400 mm. Every title gives the YSS code, which carries the length, and the make or models it is listed for.

The shocks on this page

RE302 Eco Line: the most common twin shock here. YSS lists E as the Eco Line version of its emulsion gas shock, and the T in the code means threaded spring preload.

RD222: a double tube hydraulic shock in the YSS key, with step spring preload.

RZ362: an emulsion gas shock, most with threaded preload, rebound and length adjustment. Most are listed as Top Line, and some as Black Edition.

RG362: what YSS calls a top external reservoir piggyback gas shock, with compression adjustment as well as preload and rebound.

Sold as a pair

A bike with twin rear shocks needs two. Every listing here is a pair: the title says (Pair) and the price is for both shocks.

Reading the YSS code

YSS publishes a product code key, and the code in every title follows it. The three digits after the first dash are what YSS calls the length of the shock, in millimetres. The letters after the length are the adjusters: P or T for step or threaded spring preload, R for rebound, C for compression and L or J for length adjustment. YSS does not say how the length is measured, so compare it with the shock fitted now.

Will it fit my motorcycle?

Each title names the make and, where there is room, the models the part is listed for. The Fitment section on the listing gives every model and year. Check the year range as well as the model name, and compare the length in the code with the shock on your bike now.

What is the difference between Eco Line and Top Line?

YSS describes its Top Line shocks as offering adjustment for rebound and preload, with compression adjustment on selected models. On this page the title says which line a shock belongs to: the Top Line shocks are RZ362 and RG362 codes, and the Eco Line shocks are mostly RE302 codes, with threaded spring preload. The adjusters each shock has are in its code.
