ICON Helmets
We have ICON helmets for sale in six lines (Airflite, Airform, Airframe Pro, Domain, Threshold and Ultraflite), all with free UK delivery available. Every one is 15% off RRP.
The six lines, compared
| Line | Shell (ICON) | Head shape (ICON) | Outer shield (ICON) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airflite | polycarbonate | long oval | Fliteshield / Forceshield |
| Airform | polycarbonate | intermediate oval | Optics shield / TracShield |
| Airframe Pro | fibreglass, carbon option | intermediate oval | Optics shield / TracShield |
| Domain | fibreglass | round | Domain Shield / Motoshield |
| Threshold | fibreglass | intermediate oval | Threshold Shield |
| Ultraflite | fibreglass, carbon option | intermediate oval | Ultrashield |
ICON says the Airflite's long oval shape "offers additional forehead room for those who find that most helmets have pressure points in the forehead".
ICON's own page for each of the six lines gives "ECE 22-06 (Europe)" among the standards it lists. Check the standard shown, if any, on the listing of the helmet you want. Our motorcycle helmets page covers UK helmet law.
Measuring your head
ICON's instruction is to "Wrap a flexible tape measure around your head approximately one inch above the eyebrows and ears." ICON publishes a separate size chart for each helmet shell on its own website, so use the one for the line you want. Sizes differ from one listing to another. Each listing shows its own.
Shields, drop visors and spares
For a spare drop visor, we list the Threshold Dropshield and the Dropshield Ultra. ICON's Threshold page lists an "Internal Threshold DropShield™", and ICON says the Dropshield Ultra is "Built for the ULTRAFLITE™". Both are on the ICON visors and spares page, with outer shields for all six lines. Before you order any shield or drop visor, check its listing against the visor standards UK road use requires.
Drop visors, chin bars, MIPS and Bluetooth
Which ICON helmets have an internal drop visor?
ICON lists one for the Airflite, Airform, Threshold and Ultraflite. It lists none for the Airframe Pro or the Domain, so you don't get one on either.
Which ICON helmet has a flip-up chin bar?
Of the six lines we sell, the Threshold. ICON builds it with a "Modular flip-up chinbar with an easy-open button" and calls none of the other five lines modular.
Which ICON helmets have MIPS?
The ones with MIPS in the listing title. Those are our Ultraflite listings and some of our Airflite and Airform listings, while no Airframe Pro, Domain or Threshold listing has it.
Which ICON helmets take a Bluetooth system?
ICON says the Domain, Threshold and Ultraflite are "Upgradeable to HelmLink™ Bluetooth® communication system (sold separately)". For the Airflite and Airform, ICON lists "dedicated cutouts for easy installation of speakers or communication devices". It lists neither for the Airframe Pro.
